In cell, we learnt that the next step (after Care Acts) is to find opportunities to reach out to our oikos or strangers. Let's look for divine opportunities to 'be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have' (1 Peter 3:15) Be encouraged, to find people to share with! Let's believe that we can see the miracle of salvation happening amongst our friends, and in Sunnydale! Already we have experienced many miracles with so many of you being saved and added to our numbers, do continue to have faith as this season, we reach out to our oikos in the ACTION! cell and other evangelistic platforms Trinity would be having. Also, we can utilise the Book of Life to pray for their felt needs and for open hearts.

CLUBHOPE6
No words can express.

Meaningful, fulfilling, exciting experiences worth remembering for life.
Nias Island is about 125km off West of Sumatra on the Indian Ocean. The water surround Nias is great for sea activities. Nias, estimated about 4 times the size of Singapore.
Last Dec 26, Nias was hit by Tsunami from the West. The Island was hit again by earthquake from the East, March 2005. Nias was double hit.
I was at the Capital of Nias - Gunung Sitoli from 13 - 19 Aug 2005; stayed with OMO Tomorrow's Hope. It is an orphanage home; housing about 120 children from 4 - 19 of age. The children are well behaved. They are polite and lovely. Also playful at times; "still children, right!"
There was this vibrant atmosphere in the air. The children were very active. They sang with great strength. They played and laugh with much joy. By the way, they start singing at 5:30am. Kinda morning call for us. We interacted with the children just as we were children also; running, hoping, jumping, yelling, etc. They run and run without getting tired. They were so eager to learn; paying attention whenever we explained something. They have a good teachable spirit.
The Team has a problem. We do not know much Bahasa Indonesian. We can't speak with them fluently. What should we do? We communicated through body gestures. We managed to interact. Body language speaks a thousand words. When we felt happy, the children smile. When we tear, they tear. The team loves the children. I could feel that passionate heartbeat of the team.
It was great working with this team. Each coming from various walks of life, contributing their individual part attributed to holistic effort into the trip. We planned, we worked, carried tasks together. A specific example I would like to highlight: That week was Indonesian National Day. The team organized a carnival festival for the children. We made do with what we have. We set up 5 games/sports stations. I was amazed by the creativity, the ability of the spiritual gift of the members. The flow of effort was so coherently knitted. Indeed the incredible unity was so obvious within the team.
We visited remote village for a food distribution program. We travelled on “pick-up”. This pick-up can 'fight' with any four wheels drive; running like cross country route runner; up and down through adverse terrain; went through steep slippery slope; even pulling through heavy downpour along the journey.
Niassan lead a simple lifestyle; have simple meals. They are sincere, friendly. Most of them live in wooden houses.
We were very much welcomed by Niassan.
I'm very blessed by the Children.

Care Act
On Tuesday, went to a coffee shop opposite Siemens Center which serve great beef kwey teow, jelly bean curd and fritters.
I bought 2 banana fritters, intending to give to 2 colleagues. One for my hearing impaired colleague and my only other female colleague.
When I gave the fritter, she looked surprised and told me over msn that actually she wanted to sms me to help her get some snacks but then later drop the idea. She thought perhaps it was a coincidence.
After what she said, I felt glad and bless at heart. I am glad that God used my small action so significantly. Isn't God amazing? I was slightly surprise for her to speculate that it's a coincidence for she claim that she believes prayers are powerful. (she is Christian but have not been to church for 2 years) Wanted to tell her that it's indeed God who did it. But somehow I did not tell her as I believed God is already showing her something.
Personally this experience has encouraged me! =) It's always better to give than to receive and in giving, both parties are blessed.

Do you ... CARE?
Discussing about what is 'caring', brings many different answers.
To some, it's the extra mile or effort that someone takes, unexpectedly. Others say, it involves a sacrifice of time or money, with no ulterior motive, a genuine sincere concern, something done that touches you, simple things like a timely word at the right time.
And looking at the past week, many were touched by the small things people had done for them. An sms 'heard that you were sick...' / 'this verse is to encourage you'; a listening ear, an unexpected lunch, words of encouragement about the matters they worry about... Small things that don't take much effort, just care.
We can, too. Care for the people around us, by doing likewise - a CARE ACT. For our oikos who needs to know Jesus - send them a tract. For our parents who needs healing and breakthroughs - let them know we are praying. Share an umbrella with the person who has none. In arguments, forsake your natural reactions and choose to care, to respond in kindness.
I challenge us to live like the church in Acts (Acts 2:42-45). Imagine, would you sell your handphone, your car, your beloved bags or clothes, to raise funds and pool it together for the destitute in your community? That is what they did! For us today, we can do a little bit, just by donating our spare change to CCSS' donation box. Although you would not have a chance to see where the aid is being sent to, take heart that by just giving your coins, you are giving to a greater cause. To help the standard of living, for some people. And somewhere out there, someone knows... you care.
